YouBounty works out to about $0.10/bounty. For every $1 cash bounty purchased, posters unlock 10 renown bounties.
Renown bounties don't pay cash. Instead, they reward users with a currency called "renown" that can be used to unlock additional features. Hunters must complete 5 renown bounties in order to unlock a $1 cash bounty. Unlike cash bounties which require a successful completion of a challenge question, renown bounties only requires users to visit the posted link.
Both cash and renown bounties have a time-delay that prevents users from spamming through. Cash bounty timers are 3x as long as renown bounty timers. Additionally, only one renown bounty and one cash bounty can be active at a time.
YouBounty is an alternative to ads. Ads are one way communication tools that result in random and unpredictable engagement. Bounties are more like "jobs" in that they ask the user to engage with your content in exchange for compensation for their time.
